London's Calling

We are heading to London for 10 days in April. Ange's 40th is on the 21st April so this will be a good chance to drag the kids back to visit all our old stomping grounds.

We have booked flights on Ryanair, get this, our flights are technically free (cost €0.01) but when you add airport taxes, luggage, check in and handling costs the expense comes in around €200. Still not bad for 5 persons return.

We have booked a apartment right next to Portobello Rd Market, so I suspect it will be very "lively and cosmopolitan" just as the rental agency have described.

I also looked at some other apartments in Bayswater & Paddington but they were either a little dodgy or too expensive (and in some cases both).

  1. Hi Ange, Don & family,
Love the blogs! Ange, have to wish you a happy 40th for next month - very brave of you (or Don) to acknowledge publicly!
We are going to be in France in September - flights all booked! Maybe we will see you over there. Anne has got the kids learning French again - slow progress. Enjoy London and keep up the blogging.

  2. Thanks Deano. Decided to be loud and proud about the birthday. What with the distance between me and most of my friends and family and the false sense of anonymity the the internet provides I do not know what got into me!! Would love to try and catch up in September I will send you an email off line to try and make a plan. Pleased Anne has started early with the French lessons for your boys, wish I had done the same..Ça ne fait rien. A bientot Ange
